Inyoung Cheong



Inyoung Cheong is a postdoctoral scholar at the Princeton Center for Information Technology Policy. She studies legal and technical governance for responsible AI. Trained in law, policy, and computer science, she investigates free speech protection and liability on digital spaces, assesses AI's impacts on privacy and human agency, and builds an evaluation system that encodes legal duties in AI agents' behavior. Her work appears in Michigan Technology Law Review, University of Cincinnati Law Review, FAccT, AIES, COLM, and AI and Ethics. Her research has been supported by Fulbright Scholarship, OpenAI Democratic Inputs to AI grant, UW Tech Policy Lab Fellowship, and Consumer Reports Fellowship. Prior to academia, she served as Deputy Director in the Ministry of Culture of Korea and Korea Communications Commission, where she set national media and technology policy.
